Hudsons to celebrate 70 years

Mary K. and William Joseph Hudson of Ellsworth will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary this month.

Mary K. Ward and William Joseph Hudson were married April 18, 1942, in Pueblo, Colo. They moved to Ellsworth in 1983.

Joe Hudson, who will be 95 this year, worked as an X-ray and laboratory technician. His wife, who also will celebrate her 90th birthday April 18, worked in a doctor’s office and at a hospital.

Joe keeps busy golfing and Kathleen crochets hats for native American children in South Dakota. They both enjoy walking when the weather permits.

The couple’s children are: Robert Hudson of Ellsworth, Margaret McKinnon of Montague, Calif., Thomas Hudson of Travelers Rest, S.C., Joel Hudson of Emporia, Cecilia Bergman of Wild Horse, Colo., Loretta Deats of Pinedale, Wyo., and Teresa Justiss of Claredon, Texas. Their deceased children are Mary Alice, Kathleen Ann, Mary Kathleen Johnson, who lived at Ellsworth, and John Martin.

The Hudsons also have 23 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren with two more expected in the near future.
