The Lady ‘Cat volleyball team shows off its first place medals and plaque at Sept. 8 at the Bearcat Lair in Ellsworth.

ELLSWORTH — The Lady ‘Cats had a good week, winning the round-robin Ellsworth Volleyball Tournament by sweeping all teams Sept. 8 and then beating arch-rival Sacred Heart Tuesday in two NCAA matches. The Lady Knights are a quality team and it took Ellsworth three games in both matches to get the win. Lainey Dunn did a good job at the nets in both matches, getting a lot of blocks.

The Lady Bearcat tennis team placed second to Chapman at the Ellsworth Invitational Round Robin tournament Thursday in Ellsworth. Rachel Herzog was undefeated at the number one singles slot and won the first place medal.

WILSON — The Lady Dragons continue to win on the volleyball courts, defeating Rock Hills by scores of 25-9 and Southern Cloud 26-24 and 25-13. They will compete at 9 a.m. at the Tescott Invitational Volleyball Tournament in Wilson.

The entire Dragon cross country team had a good day at the Bennington course Thursday, with all runners having personal best times in their events. Senior Creighton Reeves set a new school record at the meet.

CENTRAL PLAINS — After placing third at the tough Ellsworth tournament, the Lady Oilers were idle this week. They will compete at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Russell Volleyball Tournament in Russell.
