Soggy tales from the gridiron

ELLSWORTH --- The Bearcats won their first game of district play by de-clawing Lyons 27-14, at Shanelec Field in Ellsworth.

Trevor Miley scored two touchdowns and a heads-up play by Mikhal Trevino in the fourth quarter gave the ‘Cats the edge as a light mist and rain fell over Ellsworth County.

LINCOLN --- The Oilers of Central Plains got a win, defeating the Leopards of Lincoln 22-14 in Lincoln.

WILSON --- The Mustangs of Sylvan Unified galloped over the  injury-plagued Dragons, defeating Wilson by a score of 66-40.

The teams played in a mist in the first quarter that turned into rain by halftime. The Mustangs won the game with over nine minutes on the clock in the fourth quarter.
