TIPTON --- The Wilson Dragons almost pulled off an upset over the ninth-ranked St. John’s of Beloit/Tipton in the tiny gym at Tipton, but the Blujays pulled ahead in the third quarter and hung on to eke out a 62-53 win.

The Dragon’s got into foul trouble early in the first half of the game, but Wilson bench players Justin Zamecnik and Grayson Fabrizius stepped into the void and helped Wilson have a small halftime lead.

The Lady Dragons played a very physical and determined Lady Blujay team -- that fought back from an early second quarter 14-point deficit -- to get a 48-38 win.

A lot of Lady Dragon bench players got a lot of playing time in the tight, hard fought battle, giving the Wilson starting lineup some breaks and contributing to the win.

The Lady Dragon rebounding keeps improving.

CLAFLIN --- The Oilers beat Kiowa County 55-47 in Claflin after defeating Hill City 57-50 Monday night in Hill City.

The Lady O’s defeated Kiowa County 55-37 tonight in Claflin after annihilating Hill City 74-32 Monday night in Hill City.

Ellsworth was idle tonight, preparing for the Friday games with arch-rival Sacred Heart.
