Betty Lee Bailor

POSTED: January 8, 2014 7:00 a.m.

Betty Lee Bailor (Pflughoeft) was carried on angel’s wings to her final home in heaven on Oct. 22, 2013.
She was born the oldest of four children to Frederic August and Amalia Pflughoeft on April 5, 1924 in Ellsworth, Kan.
She was married to Logan L. Bailor on April 5, 1943, and was widowed in 1979 when Logan L., then the executive vice president of the Bank of Aspen, was killed in a motorcycle accident in Aspen, Colo.
Life’s travels and careers took them to homes in Emporia, Kan., Roswell, N.M., and Aspen.
During her 20 years in Aspen, she worked with Guido and Trudy Meyer, was the chief dispatcher and supervisor for the Aspen Police Department, secretary for the City of Aspen Water Department, and was the deputy town clerk and treasurer for the town of Basalt, and a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Aspen.
She subsequently relocated to Camarillo, Calif., where she worked at various jobs, was involved in numerous civic organizations, and also tended to her beautiful gardens. She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church.
Her last stop took her to Lake Ozark, Mo. to be with her daughter, where she enjoyed her beautiful home, gardens and wonderful pal, Misty, her cat. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church.
Betty had many careers and interests in her life, but none more important than raising her family. She was a loving and doting mother and an incredibly fun and loving granny and great granny. Her gentle loving kindness will be missed.
She is survived by brothers, Don Pflughoeft of Ellsworth, and Dale Pflughoeft of Renton, Wash.; daughter Cheryl L. Conroy of Four Seasons, Mo.; a son, Logan D. Bailor of Fort Collins, Colo.; grandchildren Jason and Jennifer Rushing and Logan A. Bailor; and her great-grandchildren, Morgan and Derek Rushing.
A memorial service is planned at a later date to be announced.
May she rest in God’s loving peace.
