WILSON --- The Wilson Dragons played a great first half of basketball, but the Lakeside Knights battled back in the third quarter to make it a 1-3 point fourth quarter basketball game.

Heads up play by the Dragons late in the fourth quarter gave Wilson a 40-35 win.

The Dragons looked vastly improved from December.

The fifth-ranked 1A Division II Lady Dragons also played a good brand of team basketball, demolishing the Lady Knights by a score of 59-30.

The Lady Dragons were very fast on the hardwood, and good defensive plays were the key to the lopsided win.

MACKSVILLE --- The ninth-ranked 2A Oilers of Central Plains defeated Macksville, 66-55, in a Central Prairie League game in Macksville.

The eighth-ranked 2A Lady O’s continue their winning streak, eviscerating the Lady Coyotes by a score of 74-29.

BELLEVILLE --- It was a heartbreaker for the improving Bearcat basketball team, as the Republic County Buffaloes canned a trey at the buzzer to get a 57-54 win over Ellsworth in Belleville.

The Lady ‘Cats took care of business, defeating the Lady Buffs 40-24.

The Bearcat grapplers host the competitive Ellsworth Invitational Saturday in the Bearcat Lair at Ellsworth. Wrestling begins at 9 a.m.
