ELLSWORTH — The Lady Bearcats were just too much for Sacred Heart in the fourth quarter, beating the Lady Knights 49-35 in Ellsworth. It had been a close, 1-4 point ballgame in the previous three quarters. It was a team effort, with good fundamental basketball. The Lady 'Cats made the charity shots and the fast-break layups.

The Bearcats lost another close game with a 56-53 loss to Sacred Heart. It was an exciting game of basketball. The Bearcats had a dismal offense in the first quarter, but played great defense and never gave up, turning the fourth quarter a one or two bucket battle.

The 'Cats put on a great performace for the members of the Bearcat 1989 3A State champion basketball team.

CLAFLIN — The eighth-ranked 2A Lady Oilers rolled over the eighth-ranked 1A Lady Knights of Victoria, 76-32, in Claflin.

The fourth-ranked 2A Oilers had little trouble dispatching Victoria in the boys' game, winning by a score of 55-37.

LINCOLN — The Wilson Dragons, seeded sixth in the Northern Plains League tournament, defeated Lincoln 58-55 in Lincoln to advance to the next round. They will meet third-seeded Thunder Ridge at 8 p.m. Monday at the grade school in Lincoln.

The second-seeded Lady Dragons, ranked fifth in 1A Division II play, will take on the winner of the Southern Cloud/Chase game at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the high school in Lincoln.
