Friday night roundball and wrestling roundup

HOISINGTON — The Bearcat grappling team entered post-season competition Friday, wrestling at the 3A-2A-1A regional tournament in the Activity Center at Hoisington. Ty Nienke and Mo Rojas advance in the winner’s bracket. All but one of the Bearcat grapplers will compete in the consolation bracket. Wrestling will resume at 11 a.m. Saturday.

WILSON — The Wilson Dragons, were defeated by Rock Hills 49-32 Friday in the Dragon Den at Wilson. Lincoln beat the Dragons 47-36 Thursday, in a makeup game at Lincoln.

The Lady Dragons whipped the Lady Grizzlies team 58-32 in the girls’ game. Defense and a lot of assists were the keys to the win. The Lady Dragons beat the Lady Leopards 45-43 Thursday, in a makeup game at Lincoln.

KINSLEY — The second-ranked and undefeated 2A Lady Oilers of Central Plains, beat the Lady Coyotes of Kinsley by a score of 73-18 in Kinsley.

Fourth-ranked, the 2A Oilers had little trouble skinning the Coyotes, 64-34 in Kinsley.

LARNED — The Bearcats got another solid win against the Indians of Larned 60-50 Friday at Larned.

The Lady Bearcats rolled over the Lady Indians by a score of 55-37.
