The steel gazebo was made by inmates at the Ellsworth Correctional Facility. Here it is being taken from the prison to Ellsworth Municipal Airport.

For Jacob Choitz and other members of his family, the Ellsworth Municipal Airport was always a special place to hang out.
Jacob and his older brother, Josh, both students in Kansas State University’s aviation program at Salina, enjoyed building their own airplanes — or just being together and watching traffic in and out of the airport. The only place to sit was an old sofa in the Choitz hangar.
That is no longer the case.
The Choitz family — with the help of other individuals and businesses in the Ellsworth community — have placed a memorial at the airport to remember Jacob, who was killed in an automobile wreck almost a year ago. He was 21 years old.
