USD 327 board members ponder bond issue loss

POSTED: June 15, 2012 7:00 a.m.

Superintendent Eric Reid Monday night asked members of the Ellsworth-Kanopolis-Geneseo school board to share their reflections on the June 5 bond issue election at the June 25 meeting.
“I know for me, it takes a long time to process,” Reid said. “When we have an election like that, it’s clear — very clear — that it was not the right project. Now what we go back with, if we go back with anything at all, we need to start putting a new long term plan together. That is what we need to figure out. I’d really like some reflections from you. Please listen to people strongly.”
Voters of the USD 327 school district defeated an $11.3 million dollar bond issue by a vote of 713-416 in the June 5 special election.
