Rain, merciful rain began to fall on Ellsworth County at about midnight Friday morning. Reports of .50-.60” by 6 a.m. were received from residents on the Elkhorn Creek northeast of Ellsworth.
Ellsworth residents reported 1-1/2” by 10 a.m. In Holyrood .80-.90” was reported and in Wilson, 1.65” fell on the world’s largest Czech Egg. Kanopolis reported 1.40” of moisture.
Even though the much needed precipitation fell across the county, the county-wide burn ban remains in effect due to the ultra-dry conditions.
