The Ellsworth City Council approved a revised water conservation plan and water ordinance Monday night. The measure was in response to a two-year drought and the continuing Stage 3 water emergency that was implemented July 23 to prohibit outdoor water usage in the city.
Delete - Merge U“We’re adopting this for the future,” said Ellsworth mayor Steve Bahan.
Ordinance 3036 repeals all ordinances and parts of ordinances conflicting with its provisions.
Delete - Merge UpUnder a Stage 2 water warning, the city will call the Division of Water Resources for permission to require private well owners to comply with the city’s drought response regulations. Under a Stage 3 water emergency, the regulations apply to all city residents, including private domestic well users.
