Ellsworth school district eyes another bond issue

Members of the Ellsworth-Kanopolis-Geneseo school board voted unanimously Monday night to hire an architect and a bond assistance company to investigate the possibility of  moving forward with a bond issue in the April 2 general election.
Superintendent Eric Reid said hiring an architect and a bond assistance company was the first step in deciding whether the district should pursue a bond issue.
“As I told you guys in the last special meeting for the survey results, I wanted to contact architects as a guide along the way. The architect that I would like to work with — if we do choose to go forward — is HTK Architects (Horst, Terril and Karst) out of Topeka,” Reid said.
 “Remember that this process is to some, backwards. We need an architect to help you with the prices and scope out the project.”
