This could be a taxing session for the Kansas Legislature

Ellsworth County's two representatives - Kansas Sen. Jay Emler, R-Lindsborg, and Rep. Steven Johnson, R-Assaria - agree - this session of the Kansas Legislature may come down to taxes.

The session starts Jan. 14 and issues are expected to include: income tax legislation passed in 2012, extension of a temporary sales tax and the placement of a spending cap on cities, counties and school districts.

Pick up a copy of the Jan. 10, 2013, edition of the Ellsworth County Independent-Reporter for interviews with Emler and Johnson about the upcoming session.
