Grant applications due March 15

Applications should be from Ellsworth County and for-profit organizations are not eligible.
About $8,150 will be available in 2013 from the Community Grant Fund for grants and $2,000 from the Healthy Living Fund.
Applications are available online at www.smokyhillscf.org. Click apply for grant. The two-page applications also are available at banks in Ellsworth, Kanopolis, Holyrood, Wilson and Lorraine. Applicants may also contact a board member: Heather Barta, Frank Toman, Lisa Parsons, Marvin Bush, Theresa Staudiner, Pat Mollhagen, Vern Schepman, John Henley, Karen Wacker or Sara Soukup.
Application deadline is March 15 with awards being announced in April.
Only applications completed on foundation forms will be accepted.
On a related matter, the Ellsworth County Cancer Fund also is accepting grant applications. There is no deadline for application, which also is available online at the Smoky Hills website. Grants, which target Ellsworth County residents who are battling cancer, are awarded as funds become available.
