Winds in excess of 60 miles an hour overturned several sheds Sunday night at the Ellsworth Municipal Golf Course.
Ellsworth mayor Cole Worrell was at the scene Monday morning to inspect the damage. He also visited the course Sunday night, after the wind storm passed through, and found golf carts stored inside the sheds in place with debris all around them.
The sheds, built several decades ago, are a matter of debate. The stalls belong to individual golfers, including Worrell; however, the structures are on city property.
Other golfers also were at the course Monday morning to inspect storm damage.
Also Monday, members of the Ellsworth County Commission voted to restore a burn ban following a major grass fire this past weekend south of Wilson. Fire departments from several area towns responded.
