2014 Cowtown Days Schedule

Activities will take place at Cowtown Plaza south of the railroad tracks unless otherwise noted.
Friday, Aug. 15
• Sweet Repeats Consignment Sale, 5:30 p.m., Ellsworth Rec Center/Armory.
• El Kan Western Riders Rodeo, 8 p.m., El Kan Western Riders Rodeo Arena, south of Ellsworth.
Saturday, Aug. 16
• Registration for the 5K Cowtown Run, 6:30 a.m. Run starts at 6:30 p.m.
• Breakfast, 7 to 10 a.m., Ellsworth Senior Center.
• Farmers Market, open at 8 a.m.
• Kids free fun run, 9:30 a.m.
• Sweet Repeats Consignment Sale, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Ellsworth Rec Center/Armory.
• Veterans who plan to march in the Cowtown Parade meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Ellsworth Kwik Shop.
• Veterans who do not plan to march in the Cowtown Parade meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Ellsworth Area Art Gallery. Chairs will be set up in front of the gallery so these veterans can watch the parade.
• Cowtown Parade, “Ellsworth Strong,” 10 a.m., down Douglas Ave., featuring Ellsworth County veterans — past, present, and future.
• The “Shooting of Sheriff Whitney” historical reenactment, after the Cowtown Parade, at the Ellsworth County Historical Society Museum Complex.
• Craft vendors and fun shopping experiences will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Don’t forget to visit our local merchants.
• Paint ball trailer fun, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Live entertainment provided by Paul Craig, Theatre Tech Productions, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Registration for dodge ball tournament and the tub run, 11 a.m. The dodge ball tournament begins at 1:30 p.m.
• Kids Game Corral, bouncy houses, and Apples on a String, noon to 4 p.m. Proceeds to benefit the Ellsworth Boy Scouts.
• Food vendors, live entertainment, and beer garden, noon to 6 p.m. Enjoy music by Hell Creek Bridge, Plains, Ray Smith, F5 Band, and Courtney Sue Irwin and Mike Benish.
• Tub Run, 12:30 p.m.
• Tractor Pedal Pull registration, 1 p.m., with state sanctioned pull to follow.
• Washer tournament, 1 p.m.
• Drawing for the “Passport to Amazing Ellsworth” gift basket, 1 p.m., Ellsworth Art Gallery.
• Ping Pong ball drops, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., with the chance to win a $100 ball.
• El Kan Western Riders Rodeo, 7 p.m., El Kan Western Riders Rodeo Arena south of Ellsworth.
• Live entertainment/street dance, 9 p.m., Paden’s Place. Dance to the tunes of “12 Years Coming.”
