Gene Malir to celebrate 80 years

Eugene Malir will celebrate his 80th birthday with a come-and-go reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at the Midland Railroad Hotel, Wilson.
“Gene,” as he is known to family and friends, was born Jan. 9, 1932, to Edward and Mary (Krupp) Malir. He has lived his entire life on a farm in Noble Township. He married Fran Mastek July 19, 1956, at Tampa. She died Feb. 2, 2002. He married Alice (Doubrava) Macek Sept. 10, 2004.
He has two children, Rick and wife, Bonnie, of Dublin, Ohio, and Nancy Malir of Alexandria, Va.; two step children, Jerry Macek of Wilson and Ramona Macek of Topeka; four step-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
