Malirs celebrate 80th birthdays

Robert and Joan Malir, Wilson, celebrated their 80th birthdays with their family in Manhattan.
Joan who turned 80 in January and Bob, who turns 80 in April, began the day with a special intentioned Mass at the St. Isidore’s Catholic Church in Manhattan, on the campus of Kansas State University.  Upon completion of the Mass, all went to a local restaurant where a birthday celebration was held.  Most in attendance spent the evening at a Manhattan area hotel before journeying home on Sunday.
In attendance were Bob and Joan’s three children, Lynn (Malir) Dowling and husband Bill of Hays, Paul Malir and wife Lynn of Lenexa, Kansas and Carol (Malir) Keiswetter of Cary, N.C.
Grandchildren present included Tom and Lauren Dowling of Kansas City, Andrew Dowling of Fairway, Catherine Dowling and fiancé Brad Grosscup of Lenexa, Christine Dowling of Manhattan, and Matthew and Kristen Malir of Lenexa.  Tony Dowling (Houston, Texas), son of Lynn and Bill Dowling, Dean Keiswetter, husband of Carol and their children Spencer, Ethan, Addison and Chloe were unable to attend.
