LaVerne Yager celebrates 100th birthday

LaVerne Yager, Lakewood, Colo., celebrated her 100th birthday Sept. 2 with family and friends from Colorado, California, Kansas, and Arkansas. LaVerne lived in Holyrood from 1939 to 2011.
Attending the celebration from the Holyrood area were: Kathe Yager, Charles and Jackie Yager, Harold and Patsy Simpson, Henry Philip and Carolyn Burmister, Sharon Folk, and Laura Folk.
The congregation from St. Paul United Church of Christ, Holyrood, livened up the occasion by singing “Happy Birthday” to LaVerne by phone.
LaVerne is the mother of three sons: Glenn, Lyle, and Carl Yager. She also has seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
