Frank Doubrava Sr.

The annual Frank Doubrava Sr. family reunion gathered Sunday, Aug. 19, at the Ellsworth Golf Course Meeting Room.
 A potluck dinner with ethnic food was enjoyed followed by a business meeting. Host and hostesses for the event were: Joe Doubrava, Toni Pflughoeft, Vivian Peppiatt and Kay Doubrava.
 The Doubrava family consists of  descendants of Tobias, Wenslow, Ralph, Frank and Emma Doubrava, whose parents were Joseph and Anna Doubrava. The family homesteaded on a farm south of the Holyrood Lake in Palacky Township, Ellsworth County.
Guests representing the Frank Doubrava Jr. family were: Bob and Rose Small, Keith and Nancy Small, and Nathan Small, all of Lyons; Gene and Alice Malir, Jerry D. Macek, Joe and Jana Macek, Brianna and Jamie, John and Deanne Hoch and Katie, all of Wilson; George J. Barta of Jewell; Terry and Darlene Lank of Claflin; Art and Linda Heitschmidt, Darcie Wilson and Brynn and Avery, all of Wichita; Andrew and Kay Peppiatt of Salina; Mike and Valerie Janzen of Geneseo; Sydney Connally of Kingman, Ariz.; and Joshua Pekar of Hays; Loren and Kay Dees, Fred and Vivian Peppiatt, Ken and Lorene Barta, Mike and Toni Pflughoeft, Jerry and Cathy Soukup, Mychel Dolezal and MyKena, Emily Hysong and Jim and Marilyn Homolka, all of Ellsworth.
 Representing the Wenslow Doubrava family were: Edna Kanak of Geneseo; and Randy and Mary Kanak of Leavenworth.
Representing the Ralph Doubrava family were: Rose Doubrava, Ralph and Venicia Doubrava, McKayla, McKenzy, McKolle and Brandon Doubrava.
 Representing the Tobias Doubrava family were: Kay Doubrava and Raymond, Richard Doubrava, Joe Doubrava and Ashley and Karen Faley, all of Wichita.
 A drawing for door prizes were held and the guessing games were won by Vivian Peppiatt, Rose Small and Joe Macek.
 The next reunion will be Aug. 18, 2013 at the Ellsworth Senior Center. Hosting the 2013 reunion will be Vivian Peppiatt, Kay Doubrava, Jerry Macek and Joe Macek.
