St. Francis Circle 232

The regular monthly meeting of the Daughters of Isabella St. Francis Circle 232 was Sept. 10. On the agenda:
• Opening prayer by Chancellor Judy Soukup followed by the pledge to the flag.
• The obligation was recited for Tomas Cisnerios and Ashley Zelenka. Judy Soukup presented a reading on Joseph the Carpenter.
• Twelve officers and 18 members were present. The circle has 62 total members.
• Thank-you notes were read from the Betty Mog family; Justin Palmer; and Brian Lager. A congratulatory note from the international regent was shared for Circle 232 getting top prize for the Cross and Crown Award and the Bletzs Award.
• Get-well cards had been sent to Carmel Dlabal, Francis Prosser and Barbara Princ. Thinking-of-you cards had been sent to Peggy Hanzlick, Karan Bond, Carmal Dlabal, Coleen Lovin and Pam Kepka. Anniversary cards had been sent to Sylvia Dlabal and Vera Ehrlich. Additional cards had been sent to the Bishop and Fr. Jarett Konrade.
• Unfinished business included payment for the defibrillator; a report from Margaret Stadleman on the making of pincushions; and the Long Form Conferral in Wilson Sept. 30.
• New business included a report on National Convention; the monthly attendance drawing; Pro Life Collection to be held Oct. 28; Jaternice making meeting to be 8 a.m., Oct. 20; a practice for the Long Form Conferral, Sept. 30 and who the participants will be; the need to provide transportation to meeting for Ila Fern Vague; it was decided to put August back in the meeting schedule and not have a December meeting.
After the closing prayer and the singing of the closing ode the meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be Oct. 8 with Alice Malir, Wilma Olds, Jennifer Kepka and Marilyn Soukup on the committee and the program by Theresa Staudinger.
