SYLVAN GROVE -- Thunder Ridge did a good job of containing Wilson’s Jake Stoppel in the second round of the Northern Prairie League Tournament at the Sylvan Unified venue Tuesday, but the Dragons won the game 46-37.
Stoppel, who has scored over 30 points in his last two outings, was held to 17 points in the contest. Jordan Bess score 10 points and Cole Zelenka was just out of the double-digit club with nine.
No one can remember when the Lady Dragons of Wilson defeated their arch-rivals the Lady Mustangs of Sylvan Unified twice in the same season -- let alone on the Lady Mustang’s home court -- but the 2012 Lady Dragons accomplished the feat by a score of 58-39.
Karlie Steinle pumped in 27 points in the win and Sarah Lanter had a great first quarter and scored 16 points in the win.
The next round of games will be posted as soon as they become available.
HOISINGTON -- The Lady Cardinals of Hoisington destroyed the Lady Bearcats by a score of 46-16. The Lady ‘Cats were scoreless in the second quarter of play.
Keep abreast of tournament results as they become available on this website and read the details of all the games in the Jan. 26 edition of the I-R.
