LINCOLN --- Both the Wilson teams will play for league championships Saturday, after winning their semi-final games Friday in Lincoln.
The Lady Dragons battled a senior-laden Lady Trojan team from Logan, who had height, wingspan and experience over Wilson, but the deep Wilson bench played a key in game as the Lady Dragons won by a score of 46-39.
The Lady Dragons will play in the championship game at 7 p.m. at Lincoln High School.
The Dragons defeated Rock Hills by a score 50-36 . Rock Hills stayed with Wilson for the first two quarters, but the third quarter belonged the Dragons as they pulled away, at one time commanding a 20-point lead by the middle of the fourth quarter.
Cole Zelenka was a ball-thief in the game and seemed to be everywhere on the court where the Dragons needed him.
The Dragons will play in the Championship at 8 p.m. at the Lincoln High School.
HOISINGTON --- The Bearcats of Ellsworth lost to NCAA rivals Minneapolis by a score of 50-38. They will compete for third place against Victoria at 4:45 p.m. Saturday at the Hoisington Activities Center in Hoisington.
The Lady ‘Cats will play Minneapolis Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the consolation bracket.
ST. JOHN --- Wichita West defeated the Oilers by a score of 54-23.
