CLAFLIN --- The Lady Oilers of Central Plains defeated Medicine Lodge 61-57 in Claflin to advance to the next round of the 2A Pratt-Skyline sub-state basketball tournament.

The Lady O’s will meet Pratt-Skyline at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1 in Pratt.

LINCOLN --- The Lady ‘Cats played a great game of basketball. They looked like sub-state contenders, contained Lady Leopard Jenna Faris to about 15 points and owned the momentum for three quarters, but Lincoln pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 44-32 win. The score does not reflect how close the game was.

The ‘Cats played a barnburner in the nightcap, but lost by a score of 46-43 after Ben Murrell and Jacob Froese fouled out of the game. The momentum shifted between the two teams on almost every possession of the ball. The game was decided in the final minute of play.

The Bearcat Backers did an excellent job of supporting both teams in the games and were treated to two quality basketball games by teams that fought until the final buzzer sounded.
