PRATT --- Central Plains triumphed over the Lady T-birds of Pratt-Skyline 50-43 in the semi-final round of the 2A sub-state tournament at Pratt-Skyline.

The Lady Oilers had a 5-point lead and a clear momentum by the end of the first quarter, but two minutes later were down by three points and played catch-up for almost two quarters of basketball.

Miranda Burton came off of the bench and scored when the Lady O’s needed it most and a Lindsay Woodmansee 3-ball gave Central Plains a 1-point lead and the momentum it needed to win.

Sterling owned the fourth quarter of play to defeat Little River by a score of 54-40 in the first game of the night. The Lady Black Bears defend the paint viciously.

The Lady O’s will meet Sterling in the final round at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 3 at Pratt-Skyline.

BELOIT ---  Top-ranked 1A Division II Wilson defeated the St. John’s of Beloit/Tipton Blujays by a score of 70-52 at Beloit High School.

The Dragons will meet third-ranked Hope at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, in the sub-state finals.

The Lady Dragons will meet Central Christian of Hutch at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 2 in the semi-finals game on the girls’ side of the tournament.

Read about these games in the March 8 edition of the I-R and watch this website for results as they become available.
