MANHATTAN—The Central Plains Lady Oilers and the Lady Buffaloes played a great game of girls’ basketball Saturday, the Lady Buffaloes prevailed in the last second of the game winning by a score of 48-47 in the third-place game at the 2A State Basketball Tournament in Manhattan.
It was a physical game of girls’ basketball and the Lady Oilers did not back down from Republic County, who plays in the North Central Activities Association. Lindsay Woodmansee was injured twice in the loss.
Jennifer Hitschmann had a game high 23 points in the game.
It was an amazing year for the Lady Oilers, considering this is the first year that this team has tread the courts. Overall, the unranked and often overlooked Lady O’s grabbed the fourth place medals by playing team basketball.
