HUTCHINSON --- Rain delayed the 3A-2A-1A  Girls’ State Tennis Tournament in Hutchison for over an hour and by 1:30 p.m. rain ended the competition for the day.

However, Breanna Schartz, Aubrey Kempke and Karli Beck of Central Plains and Lady ‘Cats Julia Hood and Ashley Sippel of Ellsworth won their all-important first matches to stay alive in the tournament before the competition was cancelled.

The 3A-2A-1A  Girls’ State Tennis Tournament will resume at noon Sunday, Oct. 13 in Hutchinson and will continue at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, due to Saturday’s inclimate weather forecast.
