WAMEGO --- Wilson Dragon long-distance runner Creighton Reeves finished his high school cross country career with a coveted 19th placed medal Saturday at the 4A-2A-1A Sate Cross Country meet in Wamego.
Reeves ran a well-paced race, staying with the front end of the pack and moving up following the halfway point of the race.
Reeves was in 18th place as he entered the finish line chute, but was passed in the final 100 yards of the home stretch.
Lincoln’s Jenna Farris finished undefeated and won the 2A girls’ event well ahead of her competition, taking her third consecutive gold medal at the tough course.
Farris also earned the distinction of having won every 2A cross country meet she has raced since her 20th place finish her freshman season.
