The Bearcat grapplers kicked-off the action-packed winter sports season with a lot of pins Thursday night in a dual with Thomas Moore Prep of Hays at city hall in Ellsworth.

The wrestlers looked impressive as a whole for the start of the season.

WILSON --- The Lady Dragons of Wilson skinned the Lady Cougars with a press in the second quarter to build a 17-point lead before winning the contest by a score of 65-45 in the Dragon Den at Wilson.

The Dragons led the fourth-ranked Cougars by two to three points until the start of the fourth quarter, when Otis-Bison eked ahead and held on to win by a score of 46-41.

LYONS --- The Bearcats were beaten by a good Lyons team 66-36.

The Lady ‘Cats were de-clawed by the Lady Lions 51-39.

CLAFLIN -- The Central Plains Oilers plucked the Cardinals of Hoisington 57-49 in a game played in Claflin.

Results of the Lady Oilers game were not available at post time.
