ELLSWORTH --- The Lady ‘Cats, playing in the tough North Central Activities Association, defeated league rival Beloit 33-28 in a thriller at the Bearcat Lair in Ellsworth.

Ellsworth looked good in the first quarter, making the easy layups to have a small lead.

The Bearcats played well, but lost 68-43 to the Trojans in the boys’ game.

WILSON --- Lincoln’s Jenna Farris made 28 points, but Wilson’s Karlie Steinle answered with a 32-point game, leading the top-ranked and undefeated 1A Division II Lady Dragons to a 56-45 victory.

Cole “Zook” Zelenka was perfect from the charity stripe, leading the Dragons to a 62-50 win over the Leopards in the Dragon Den.

Jarod Sheldon made two big blocks in the second quarter that was a pivotal point in the game.

CLAFLIN ---  The roundball was silent for the Oilers, but the teams were not idle as the Central Plains student body helf an Ironman Volleyball tournament as benefit for Oiler quarterback and point guard Bryce Steiner, who is battling cancer.

The Lady Oilers are much better volleyball players than their male counterparts.
