All Ellsworth County basketball teams are on the road this week before the winter break.
CHASE --- The top-ranked 1A Division II Lady Dragons of Wilson had little trouble dispatching the Lady Kats of Chase 54-13 in the brightly-lit gymnasium in Chase.
The play of the Lady Dragon bench is quite impressive.
The Chase Kats recovered from a 17-point deficit and pulled within five points in the last minute of the exciting boys’ game, but the Wilson Dragons played heads-up, team basketball and came out on top by a score of 61-52.
GYPSUM --- The Lady Bearcats won an impressive 51-38 victory in the tough North Central Activities Association battle against the Lady Trojans of Southeast of Saline in Gypsum.
The ‘Cats did not fare as well, losing to the Trojans by a score of 59-43.
LARNED --- The fifth-ranked Lady Oilers scalped the Lady Indians of Larned 70-32 in the orange gym in Larned.
Janae Hekele scored over 20 points in the win.
The scalping continued in the boys’ game as Layne Bieberle led the Oilers to a 60-46 win over Larned.
