STERLING — The Sterling 2A sub-state basketball tournament, with games scheduled tonight (Tuesday) in Claflin has been postponed according to tournament manager Monte Ball, the athletic director for the Sterling Black Bears.
South central Kansas had over four inches of snow and sustained winds Monday, closing a lot of schools that were scheduled to play in tonight’s games.
“At this point, I know we will be playing all boys quarterfinal games on Wednesday and all girls quarterfinal games on Thursday,” Ball said in an email Tuesday morning. “All games will be held at Sterling. Start times and location are still pending. I'm exploring the possibility of using Sterling College for two games each night. Boys and girls semifinal games will be held on Friday...start times and location pending as well. Finals will be held on Saturday as originally scheduled.”
Keep checking this website for updates concerning the Central Plains teams as they become available.
