STERLING — The fifth-ranked Lady Oilers of Central Plains had little trouble vanquishing The Lady Indians of Medicine Lodge 57-28 in the Sterling 2A sub-state tournament at Sterling High School.

The Lady Oilers will meet the Lady T-birds of Pratt Skyline at 6 p.m. today (Friday) at Sterling College in Sterling.

The Oilers will meet Inman at 7:30 p.m. today (Friday) at Sterling College in Sterling.

NORTON — The Lady Bearcats of Ellsworth shocked and awed Norton, 52-27, as North Central Activities Association girls’ teams continue to move up the brackets in every sub-state tournament.

The Lady ‘Cats will face NCAA rivals Russell at 6 p.m. Saturday in Norton. It will be the fifth meeting of the teams this season, with Russell owning a 3-1 record.

It will be a quality game of basketball.

SYLVAN GROVE — The Dragons had a bye in the first round of the Sylvan-Lucas Unified 1A Division II sub-state tournament in Sylvan Grove. Wilson will meet arch-rival Sylvan-Lucas Unified today (Friday), at 7:30 p.m. in Sylvan Grove.

The third-ranked Lady Dragons also had a bye in the first round of the tournament. They will play Otis-Bison at 3 p.m. today (Friday), in Sylvan Grove.
