Friday’s roundball roundup

POSTED: January 3, 2014 10:23 p.m.

CLAFLIN --- The Lady Oilers, undefeated and ranked ninth in 3A play by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association, looked liked a top ranked team Friday night, easily whipping the Lady Indians of Larned 60-20 in Claflin.

The Lady O’s put on a great performance, hitting the bucket from the outside, inside and draining 3-balls on their way to the win. The starting line-up was pulled from the floor in the first minute of the running-clock fourth quarter and the Lady O’s kept pulling away.

The Oilers also put on a good show, defeating Larned 61-48 in the boys’ game. Central Plains had a commanding lead by halftime.

Ellsworth and Wilson will return to the hardcourt Tuesday, Jan. 7.

Read about these games in the Jan. 9 edition of the I-R.
