WILSON --- The Dragons made chicken soup out of the Palco Roosters, cruising to a 72-54 win in the Dragon Den in Wilson.

Wilson had a commanding lead by the end of the third quarter and seniors Marcus Denham and Jarod Shelton enjoyed the fourth quarter cheering from the bench as the young Dragons continued to pull away.

The Lady Dragons, wearing their pink uniforms, dominated the first half of the 59-50 win over the Lady Roosters, but the plucky girls from Palco fought back, getting to within five points in the last two minutes of the ballgame for an exciting contest.

GREAT BEND --- The undefeated and third-ranked 2A Lady Oilers demolished Ness City, 91-50,  in the opening round of the second annual Hilltop Hoops Classic sponsored by Barton Community College.

The Lady O’s will play Ark City Christian Academy at 8 p.m. Thursday, at Barton Community College in Great Bend.

The fifth-ranked 2A Oilers are idle this week.

ELLSWORTH --- The Bearcats were idle tonight and will meet Southeast of Saline in the Bearcat Lair Friday, with the girls’ game beginning at 6 p.m. and the boys’ game at 7 p.m.
