Bearcats qualify four grapplers to State tournament

HOISINGTON --- Mo Rojas, the ’Cats’ 145-pound wrestler and  and Ty Nienke, the top-ranked 113-pound grappler, won their championship matches at the 3A-2A-1A  regional tournament in Hoisington.

Both grapplers wrestled exciting bouts in the top matches, with Rojas’ match going into overtime.

Marshall Barkow wrestled well and took third place in the tough 132-pound bracket. Zach Martin placed third in another tough bracket, the 138-pound division.

Senior grappler Tristan Ptacek, at the 160-pound slot, wrestled the best matches of his four-year career at the meet, getting two pins in the tournament.
