Holyrood firefighters squelched a small house fire Thursday afternoon in Holyrood.
The alarm sounded at about 1:55 p.m. concerning a structure fire at 211 East Nassau, owned by Nikki Murray. Firefighters extinguished the fire in about 15 minutes.
“We arrived, made an entrance and then went upstairs,” said Holyrood fire chief Mark Breford. “In a bedroom on the north side we found electronics on fire on the floor of the room. We really don’t know what started it.
“It wasn’t much, we didn’t use much water to extinguish it. Then we cleared the house of smoke with a fan.”
A damage estimate was not available.
