Kanopolis gives service awards

Service awards were awarded to several members of the Kanopolis City Council at the Nov. 8 meeting.
The awards went to Russell “Rusty” Bunch, 15 years; Mayor Cherie Sauers, 10 years; Yvonne “Bonnie” Stoppel, city clerk, 10 years; Darrell Ploutz, 10 years; Gerry Gebhardt, eight years.
Stoppel said due to the years available for listing on the awards, some of those received by the council members incorrectly stated their actual years of service. For example, Bunch has served 17 years on the council instead of 15, Sauers and Stoppel have served 14 years on the council, instead of 10.
