Former district building goes to city

POSTED: December 9, 2011 7:00 a.m.

Approval of a resolution transferring ownership of the former USD 112 district office building in Lorraine to the City of Lorraine topped the agenda during the Nov. 15 meeting of the Lorraine City Council.
According to Michael Boyer, city clerk, the resolution includes stipulations that the City of Lorraine must provide a sheltered pickup and drop-off point for local students, and that Central Plains USD 112 be given the first opportunity to purchase the building for 25 years after the transfer of ownership, in the event the city decides to close or sell the building, or decides to no longer use it as a city office.
