After discussing neighborhood revitalization, members of the Lorraine City Council selected Plan B of the Ellsworth County Neighborhood Revitalization plan during the Jan. 17 meeting. Plan B is a five-year plan with rebates on the increase in ad valorum taxes as a result of an addition or an expansion of a structure starting at 100 percent in the first year, and stair-stepping down to 50 percent in the fifth year.
In addition to Lorraine, other taxing entities in Plan B are Ellsworth County, Kanopolis, Holyrood, USD 112 and USD 327.
