An update on the construction of a cellular telephone tower north of Wilson was heard by members of the Wilson City Council at their Monday meeting.
Chris Riha, site acquisition manager for the Fort Morgan, Colo. based Viaero Wireless, said the company plans to develop a wireless network for the Wilson area.
The 150 foot tall tower will be located north of the Jellison Park ball fields on property owned by Scott Ward.
Riha said similar towers are under construction in Russell and Dorrance. He noted the company wants to eventually erect a tower in Ellsworth as well.
