Wilson council grants beer garden license

POSTED: March 23, 2012 7:00 a.m.

Instead of the Wilson Chamber of Commerce sponsoring and working the official beer garden for this year’s Czech Festival, a local convenience store, Stop 2 Shop, has been approved to provide the garden.
That approval came at Monday’s meeting of the Wilson City Council at the request of Stop 2 Shop owner, Russ Koenigsman. In addition to a temporary liquor license for Koenigsman to operate the beer garden, the council also approved the beer garden tent being open during the festival until 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday, July 27 and July 28. Koenigsman will apply for an individual liquor license from the state.

Pick up a copy of the March 22, 2012, edition of the I-R for more on the Wilson City Council meeting.
