Wilson mayor David Criswell doesn’t like what he sees when he looks down his town’s main street.
“We can do better — and we must do better,” Criswell said. “From the railroad tracks north to the assisted living center building, our former grade school, we have 17 commercial buildings. Out of those 17, nine are commercially inactive. There are no businesses in them. That’s 53 percent — the heart of our downtown commercial center.”
