Robert 'Bob" S. Homolka

Robert “Bob” S. Homolka, 73, Ellsworth, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, in Salina. 
He was born Sept. 21, 1939, in Ellsworth to Stephen and Ruth (Haase) Homolka. He was co-owner of Homolka Grain & Supply, Ellsworth, a farmer and stockman, and a U.S. Navy veteran. Bob served as mayor of Ellsworth for 27 years (1983-2009). He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, life member of American Legion Post 174, and member of the Chamber of Commerce, all at Ellsworth. He was also a member of the Kansas Motor Carrier Assoc. and NFIB.
Survivors include his brother, James D. and wife Marilyn; his nephew, Ryan and wife Michelle; and great-nephew and niece, Sumner and Sophie, all of Ellsworth.
  Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, with burial following in the Ellsworth Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 174 or the church, both in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 45, Ellsworth, Kan. 67439.
