Dr. Daryl E. Berry

Dr. Daryl E. Berry, 84, went to meet his Maker, Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 in Olathe. He was born July 4, 1928 in Downs to LeRoy and Anna (Edell) Berry. He was a public school teacher and retired associate dean of education at Emporia State University.  He started teaching in a one room school house and retired teaching teachers. Daryl was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, member of the Heritage Presbyterian Church, Olathe, the American Legion and Phi Delta Kappa.
 He married Peggy Hoffman Feb. 11, 1951 in Kanopolis. She survives. 
Other survivors include sons Dr. Marlin Berry of Olathe, Marshall Berry of Atchison and Marc Berry of Olathe; daughters Marcia Wolf of Stafford, Va., and Martha Reynolds of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, June Cross of Olathe; a brother, Ken Berry of Norton; and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at the funeral home, with burial following in the Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Presbyterian Church of Olathe, in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 45, Ellsworth, Kan. 67439.
