Mark Robert Linton, 52, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, in Salina. Mark was born Feb. 7, 1959, in Norton, the son of Gene and Martha (White) Linton. He attended elementary schools in Lenora and Holyrood, graduating from Holyrood High School in 1977. Mark graduated from the University of Kansas and then held several positions within Kansas and Iowa as a comptroller for manufacturing companies. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid Jayhawk fan of both KU football and basketball. Mark is survived by his two children, Shannon Michelle, a junior at KU, and Michael Ross, a senior at Salina South. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Gene Linton, December, 2010. Mark also is survived by his mother, Martha Linton, Holyrood; sisters, Susan (Jon) Mehler, Ellsworth, and family; Shelley (Roger) Rippen, Overland Park, and family; and brother Monte (Angela) Linton and boys, Great Bend. He leaves eight nieces and nephews and seven great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the Roselawn Chapel with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Roselawn Memorial Chapel, 1920 E. Crawford, Salina with burial at 2:30 p.m. at the United Church of Christ Cemetery in Holyrood. Memorials are suggested in lieu of flowers to the Mark Linton Children’s Educational Fund, in care of the mortuary.
