Louis Earl Bushell

Louis Earl Bushell, 81, Russell, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at the Golden Living Center, Wilson.
Louis was born Nov. 23, 1931, on a farm north of Wilson, the son of Ray and Irene (Sanders) Bushell.  He grew up and attended schools in Dorrance and Wilson. He lived in Oklahoma until 1975 when he moved to Lucas.
Louis was married to Bertha Scott for more than 20 years and later to Ella Mae Michaelis on May 10, 1986, in Russell, where they made their home.
Louis was a diesel mechanic in the oil fields. He worked for Ivan Holt for many years. Louis was a member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall Church.  He loved gardening, and visiting with family and friends and was quite a joker.
Survivors include: his son, Don Bushell and wife Reta of Dorrance; a daughter, Donna Mays and husband Dennis of El Dorado, Springs, Mo.; a sister, Bonnie Frederking of Lucas; three grandchildren, Don Bushell, Jr., Desiree Bushell and Deidra Bushell; and five great grandchildren, Angelina Bushell, Kylee Ginther, Emma Basgall, Cameron Basgall and Ellie Basgall.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ella Mae and sister Joyce Dyer.
Celebration of Louis’ life will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell.  Burial will follow in the Wilson City Cemetery. 
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the mortuary with the family greeting friends from 6  to 7 p.m. 
A memorial has been established with Harden Hospice of Salina.
Contributions and condolences may be sent in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, who is in charge of these arrangements.
