Ervin F. Nienke

Ervin F. Nienke, 80, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, in Ellsworth.
He was born June 27, 1932, in Ellsworth County to Fred and Meta (Erhardt) Nienke. Ervin was co-owner of the Mobil service station in Holyrood, a 50-year member of the Holyrood American Legion, a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church of Holyrood, and a former U.S. Marine.
On Sep. 17, 1954, Ervin married Shirley McKinney in Salina. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Mark Nienke of Windsor, Colo.; daughters, Donata Ward of Haysville, and Lisa Gillett of Salina; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Chester, Raymond, Leonard, and Amos; and sisters, Lola, Nelda, and Helen.
A funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Histiocytosis Association in care of  Parsons Funeral Home, P.O. Box 45, Ellsworth, Kan. 67439.
