Raymond L. Blase, 83, passed away Monday, Feb. 25. A resident of Sylvan Grove, he was born April 8, 1929 in rural Sylvan Grove. He was retired as a self-employed mechanic.
Raymond is survived by wife, Thelma Strecker Blase, Sylvan Grove; sons, Louis Ray (Carolyn Faye) Blase, Sylvan Grove and Robert (Shari) Blase, Red Wing; daughters, Shirley (Kenneth) Small, Sylvan Grove, Judy Meier, Wilson, Marilyn Errebo, New York; brothers, Ronald (Mary Jane) Blase, Salina, Kenneth (Judy) Blase, Camas Wash.; sister, Lois Burger, Lucas; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Richard Blase, and a grandson, William Small.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 1 at Rodrick & Minear Sylvan Chapel, 2nd and Maryland, Sylvan Grove.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 2, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Sylvan, with burial at the Bethlehem Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church or the donor’s choice.
